Gone but not forgotten

I have had dogs my whole life, but in 1990 my husband and I became more active with dogs when we where invited to an Obedience class and found out how much fun it was, we where hooked. We joined the CKC (Canadian Kennel Club) and the Rottweiler Club of Canada in the early 90's when we purchased our first Rottweiler and by the time she was a year old she had finished all her classes in Novice and already had her first Agility title... Canada first Agility titled Rottweiler... she was known as Kelly CGN NA NJ NG OA. We decided to add to the clan and brought home Kaylar she was also a Rottweiler she became known as Milo's Little Dove CGN CD (CKC pointed). Then came Caleb he was our youngest to receive a Obedience title. At the age of seven months he was earned the title CD and in later years become Shadam's little boy CGN CD CDX TD. As the Rottweilers aged we looked into rare breeds and decided to get a Beauceron "Notus Du Croix D'Amour". Being a rare breed, we could only attend rare breed shows and those where too far away from where we lived so we could only trial him at fun matchs.

As Max aged we looked at getting another dog we knew that we didn't want another large breed....so we looked at medium breeds and we wanted a breed that was from the working class. It took us about six months of doing our homework to finally decide that the Boxer was the right breed for us. Now we had to find a breeder that was going to mentor us. We email a few close to home and visited them. Once we met Deborah from Bayridge Boxers we knew that she was the breeder that we where looking for. She answered all our questions and what she didn't know she found the answers for us.

Our first Boxer baby came home with us, he was everything that we expected and more. He finished quickly in the Conformation ring and did very well in the Obedience ring. Well you know that old saying "that two Boxers are better then one". After Lakhota's first birthday we wanted another Boxer. Bayridge just had a litter and there where nly two girls... we went and looked at them, well our hearts where stolen. At the age of nine weeks Mercedes came into our lives.

We have been members of the
CKC since 1993. We are also members of The Boxer Club of Canada and The Alberta Boxer Club. We have joined the Saskatoon Kennel and Obedience Club this year (2008).
